Coordinated generalization

Print Previous page Top page Next page

The Coordinated generalization mode performs simplification of the object form with saving of common points with the neighboring objects. During processing, topological links with neighboring objects are preserved. This makes it possible to exclude manual coordination of common areas of the processed object with its neighbors.

If several objects were selected before enabling the mode, the smoothing will be performed sequentially for all selected objects.

When the coordinated generalization is performed, the following parameters are used, which are customized in the Map Editor Options dialog:

- Join tolerance, which is used to find common points of a smoothed object with neighbors (0.1 mm of a map is recommended);

- Filtering level is used to set the deformation level of the metric of the simplified object (1.0 mm on the map is recommended).
