Contour editing

ici_438 The mode is intended for editing linear and polygon objects at updating maps. Object editing is carried out by the parts limited by the neighboring nodes - points of object that are displayed on the object by yellow circles. At node moving, all object points located between the moved node and the next nodes are linearly displaced. In the beginning of editing there are only two nodes - in the beginning and end of the object. At addition of nodes the distance between nodes is decreased, that allows to specify object position on local parts.

The point in which the new node will be created by pressing the left mouse button, is shown by a lilac circle on the edited object. Position of this point is constantly refined at mouse moving. To create a node, you should click the left mouse button and keep it pressed, move the node to the right place. At moving the node simultaneously there are changed the coordinates of all points located between the moved node and adjacent nodes. At releasing a mouse button, a new node is shown on object by a yellow circle. If at the moment of pressing the mouse button, the lilac circle was on the already existing node then the new node is not created, and the old node will be moved.

At editing of extended objects it is recommended to use the mode «Set nodes at cross points». If it is enabled, then after selecting the object the nodes are automatically added not only at the ends of the object, but also in the common points through one centimeter in the map scale. In this mode it is usually enough to move only automatically put nodes. In order that it was easier to select only existing nodes, it is necessary to enable the mode «Move only nodes». In this mode, when you move the mouse the lilac circle is pasted only to the already existing nodes.

After moving of object a saving the object on a disk is carried out by standard combination Ctrl + Enter, Ctrl + left mouse button, by simultaneous pressing the left and right mouse buttons, and also by double-clicking the left mouse button.

Not to break topological links between objects, after moving the node the matching of objects is carried out. The matching is carried out for the objects which are on the preset distance from a part of editing. Only visible objects, except titles and templates will be matched. Therefore before enabling the mode it is necessary to set as a part of display only those objects which should be matched with edited objects.

The matching (join) can be carried out on distance of the join tolerance or on width of a parallel line.  The values of these parameters are set in the dialog «Map Editor Options». Switching between modes is done by selecting the item of pop-up menu you click the right mouse button. Join tolerance is small, usually less than one meter on the ground. Therefore at a choice of this value only the objects having common points with edited object will be matched. At the matching within width of a parallel line, also more distant objects located along edited object will be matched.

Sometimes there are situations when the object is easier to re-digitize, than to move its by parts. To do this in arbitrary point of edited object it is possible to enable vectorization by pressing a spacebar on the keyboard. After that a new contour is digitized in the usual manner. After the digitizing completion repeated pressing of a blank includes a mode of joining the digitized contour to the edited object. After indicating a point of joining, the part of edited object between points of detachment and joining is replaced by digitized contour. The configuration of re-digitized contour can greatly change. Therefore after completion of a digitizing, the matching with the nearby objects is not carried out.

If to save linear object before joining the digitized contour back to edited object, then there are two ways of joining an initial contour to the new one (from the first or last point). The same discrepancy occurs at re-digitizing the closed objects. Therefore after addition of the first point of a new contour, the part of an initial contour which will be attached to a new contour, is displayed by lilac color. The contour choice is carried out by value of the angle between the first piece of a new contour and the adjacent pieces of the old. To change automatically selected option it is possible by pressing the ’D’ key.

In a vectorization mode the digitized contour can join or draw on other objects. Joining is carried out simply by pressing the mouse on any point of an object's contour. After joining, all objects that are under the point of joining, are shown in the yellow color. If to place the mouse on any point of yellow object, then the joining contour is shown in lilac color. By clicking the left mouse button, all specified contour joins to the digitized object and vectorization can be continued.

On the closed objects two contours of joining are possible. For such objects by default the contour of the minimum length is selected. If it is necessary to join contour on an alternative way, it is necessary to specify after joining by a point a direction of joining. Later, at calculating a contour of joining, the ways repeatedly passing through this point will be excluded.
