Save the selected objects to the format MIF/MID

ic_0041 The mode is intended for saving the selected objects on a map into files of format MIF/MID (exchange format of MapInfo system). Basically information about polygon objects (areas and their parts) are subject to the loading.

Before a mode choice it is necessary to mark on a map the polygon objects that are intended to be saved into format MIF/MID.

After a mode choice (click of the appropriate button on the panel) the dialogue window appears in which the user must specify some parametres: a name of the directory for result placing, a mode of creation and a variant of formation of the output file name.

The output file in MapInfo system is presented by pair of files with the same name, but a different type.

File with MIF extension contains information about metrics, file with MID extension contains information about attributes of map objects.

At the used creation mode «For each object to form a separate MIF/MID» the program forms so much output pairs of files MIF and MID, how many selected objects  on a map. In this case, the file name is generated automatically. At the used element «Use the number of objects», the name will match the number of the map object. When the flag is set «Use the semantics», the name will be taken from specified semantics. In case the file name is formed by semantics, the user should control the uniqueness of semantics values by himself. Otherwise, at repetition of semantics value, the output files can erase each other. At the specified element «All marked objects in one file MIF/MID» the output file name and their quantity is determined by the program automatically, on the basis of information from the map classifier.

Elements from group «For the output file name» are not used.

Each of selected objects will be placed in one of the output files, according to number of a layer from the digital classifier of a map. In this case, the output file name is formed as a «map name» + «layer number».
