Creating and using group objects

At plotting the description  of real district objects on digital vector map it is  often necessary  to separate them to some conditional objects. For example, the river at transition from one map's sheet to another will be represented by several objects. Also if the different parts of the river have the different characteristics (width, flow rate, navigability etc.), they can be represented on an digital map by independent objects.

Usually parts of such group objects look like a whole unless one of them is selected  by user.  To make working with separated objects  more convenient and user-friendly,  and also to submit applications the data about presence and structure of such objects, Panorama , Panorama uses term «group object" .

The Group objects are objects of working region logically joined on the base of some logic rule.

The information related to group objects is stored in special GDX file associated with Work region The group object concept allows manipulating this kind of object as a whole (for example when calculating its area, perimeter, etc)
