In the process of generalisation of quarters, automatic uniting of closely located same-type quarters and adjustment of quarters with linear objects of the road network is performed. When adjusting the quarters, the quarters are cut by streets and passages, taking into account the width of linear objects.

Generalisation of quarters is performed in several stages:

1) combining quarters;

2) a cut of combined quarters by passages;

3) a cut of quarters by the main quarters;

4) deleting buildings in specified areas.

At the first stage, a combining (uniting) of the same type of quarters specified in the list of  «Quarters» is performed.

Around quarters to be combined, zones are built, which then will be united together.

The width (radius) of created zones is set in the «Passage width» field. Further the received  combined zone decreases onto the specified width and is stored as result of a uniting quarters.

If the mode «Cut quarters by passages» is set, then there is performed the second stage - a cut of combined quarters by passages specified in the list  «Passage».

Around the next passage a zone-template is built. The width (radius) of a zone depends on width of linear object the «passage», set in the classifier, and also from a thickness of a designing line of quarters. Then, all the quarters of the list are cut by the constructed zone-template.

At the third stage, the quarters are trimmed by the main quarters. The main quarters are marked by clicking in the Main tab of the Quarters column. If the marks of the main quarters are absent, then this stage is not performed.

At the fourth stage, the removal of buildings in the specified areas. The removed buildings and areas for deletion of buildings are configured in the Buildings tab.
